Who are we?

The CHIROPRACTIC CLINIC SYKES-VERWEY was established in 1964. It has been one of the longest serving chiropractic clinics in the south west. It has always been a family run clinic and our reputation for integrity, diagnosis and clinical results has been well respected in the local community.

In the beginning of 2008 the Chiropractic Clinic Sykes-Verwey received the Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM) award. Approximately only 10% of the chiropractic clinics in the UK have been honoured with this accolade.
The PPQM is awarded to Chiropractic Practices to recognise excellence in meeting patient expectations, as defined and assessed by patients.
It is awarded by The College of Chiropractors (www.colchiro.org.uk ) and more detailed information can be requested from them.

The CHIROPRACTIC TEAM consist of husband and wife, Frank and Julia Verwey. Both trained at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic and have been in practice for more than 20 years. Apart from this experience, they both have a diversified interest within Chiropractic care and hence treat a variety of conditions. These include apart from neck and low back pain conditions like; headache, shoulder impingement syndromes, sport injuries and chronic pain. (For a full list click on; What do Chiropractors treat?)
Frank and Julia will treat patients of all ages (very young to elderly) and are able to utilise various recognised Chiropractic techniques.

Frank Verwey is also a Chartered Physiotherapist and he uses this unique combination within chiropractic to provide personalised patient centred care.

Both Julia and Frank attend regularly post graduate seminars and in this way they are able to keep up with the modern trends in the profession.

Our STAFF consist of Wendy, Mandy and Nicola. They have been in the clinic for many, many years and know Chiropractic inside out. They will be your first point of contact and will welcome you and give you advice in how to fill in the various forms and confidential case history questionnaire. They will also endeavour to organize appointment times which are convenient for you.

The CLINIC HOMEOPATH is Virginia Hartley who is the last member of our team. Virginia has been with us since 1993 and works in the clinic on a part time basis.
